Consultant to prepare coastal zone and shoreline management plans

Expressions of Interest have been invited to appoint consultants for preparing Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan and Shoreline Management Plan

A state government in India is asking for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for consultancy for facilitating preparation of Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan and Shoreline Management Plan. The work will include the following:

Formulation of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) Plan based on the sediment cells, with focus on providing a clear framework for better coordination of the developmental activities along the coastal stretch through strategic actions and sustainable policies to enhance socio-economic improvement of its population while keeping its natural resources and the environment healthy and capable of sustaining future generation, including impacts of climate change.

The work will also include analysis of various issues related to shoreline changes including erosion, flooding and sea water inundation caused by natural forces like cyclones and anthropogenic activities, and developing a shoreline management sub-plan for the entire coastline.

Interested consultants must provide information demonstrating shortlisting criteria, which are:

-   Experience in similar work of regional planning

-   Experience in similar work of sectoral spatial plan

-   Experience in similar work of environmental/regional plan

-   Experience in similar work of shoreline management plan

-   Experience in similar work of integrated coastal zone management plan

-   Experience in projects funded by World Bank/Multilateral funding agencies

Consultants may associate with other firms to enhance their qualifications.

The last date for submission of EoI is 5pm (Indian time) on September 14, 2014.
