A government nodal organisation has invited tenders for appointment of consultant for preparation of Pre-Feasibility Study and Recommendations for composite and integrated development of River Yamuna to achieve navigation and to develop water transport facilities in Delhi region, India. This pre-feasibility study can be done by experienced and reputed companies, agencies, consortium of firms.
The main aim of the project is to rejuvenate the Yamuna River on an immediate and long terms basis, and for this it is planned to conduct a Pre-Feasibility Study and recommending thereafter the possibility of Composite and Integrated development of River Yamuna to achieve navigation and to develop water transport facilities in Delhi region.
The overall project scope for the project is to prepare a comprehensive Yamuna rejuvenation action plan by carrying out a feasibility study on the socio-economic, financial, technical and environmental viability of such a project justifying required investments; develop a marketing plan to promote inland waterway transport as an important and attractive mode of transport, cleaning the river, enhancing the water supply by creating mega reservoirs, aiming at zero discharge and treating sewage that can either be re-used or disposed to river Yamuna after treatment, creating an environmental and social friendly river front development and execute the actual construction works. The long-term advantage of the project is that the water line development will have a positive effect on the welfare of the population living in city with a scope to develop, water transport, land development, better water management and real estate opportunities.
The scope of services can be broadly classified into the following:
Part A: Data Collection from various stakeholders, analysis of available data, identification of gaps and establishing requirement for surveys and investigations.
Part B: River Engineering Studies and suggest improvement measures including creation of addition water storage, shipping & navigation etc.
