New marine radios from Icom

Icom UK has unveiled three new marine radios at Seawork International, the IC-GM600, IC-GM800 transceivers and a new floating handheld, the IC-M93D.

The two new transceivers feature Icom's user interface and a 4.3-inch colour LCD with day and night mode operation. As well as Class A DSC and Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) requirements for SOLAS regulated commercial vessels engaging in international voyage.

New IC-M93D handheld radios are Class D DSC compliant and feature Float'n Flash technology and a built-in GPS.

Ian Lockyer, marketing manager of Icom UK Ltd, said: ‘We have some really innovative new products this year that will assist a range of commercial customers deliver operational efficiency and improved safety and security.”

The new floating handheld radio also features enhanced audio functions include voice recording/playback, 700mW loud audio, and Icom's active noise cancelling.

At the show Icom also showcased its IP Advanced Radio System that provides full hands free duplex two-way radio communication over an existing or new IP/WLAN network, even at sea on Super Yachts, cruise ships or cargo vessels.

Other solutions included its IDAS range of digital two way radios, onboard radio solutions, AIS product range and ATEX products including the forthcoming IC-F3202DEX digital ATEX radio suitable for use in hazardous environments such as on an oil rig.
