Power solutions on show from Barrus

Mon, 23 May 2016

UK-based sales and distribution company, Barrus will be showcasing its latest portfolio of power solutions at Seawork International 2016.

These include Mariner two-stroke commercial outboards, Mariner and Mercury four-stroke outboards including the command thrust models which are designed for heavier boats. As well as inboard engines from Yanmar, John Deere and Shire.

Diesel outboard options featured will include the Mercury OptiMax 180hp and the new Neander Dtorque 111 from Yanmar.

Yanmar's new common-rail fuel injected marine diesel inboard engines will feature at the show. Suitable for workboat applications the new 6LY440 and 6LLY400 are narrow, compact and lightweight, this aims to allow for installation in small, cramped engine rooms.

Both engines meet the latest EPA Tier 3 and upcoming EU RCD 2017 emissions requirements.

Also on show will be the John Deere PowerTech marine propulsion and generator engines. They feature closed crankcase vents that eliminate unwanted gases in the engine room and keep the bilge clean. The engines are popular with launces, patrol crafts, work boats, fishing boats and trawler yachts.

Barrus recently invested substantially at its headquarters in Oxfordshire, UK to create a large, modern custom-engine building facility. This facility allows the company to build products in single units to large volume production runs.

Burrus' test facilities enable the delivery of fully tested, run-in and first serviced engines.

A number of boats which will be on display on the pontoon opposite Barrus' stand at Seawork will be fitted with engines supplied by the company, demonstrating a diverse range of commercial application.

Featured boats include a Delta 900SX 9m Rescue RIB fitted with twin Yanmar 8LV engines and a BAE Systems Artic 22 RIB powered by a Mercury Diesel OptiMax 180hp outboard engine.
