Clearwater Seafoods Orders SOLASOLV® SUNSCREENS

Fri, 13 November 2015

At the end of September, UK based Solar Solve Marine secured orders to supply 2 shipsets of SOLASOLV® anti-glare, heat rejecting roller screens to Clearwater Seafoods in Canada. The company’s vessel the Belle Carnell is the most technologically advanced shellfish harvester in the world and the Artic Endurance is a clam fishing vessel.

Paul Hopkins, Solar Solve’s Sales & Marketing Executive commented, “It was great news to receive these orders to supply SOLASOLV® sunscreens to two of Clearwater’s vessels. They have ordered the screens to reduce glare and reflection on the bridge whilst the vessels operate at sea in artic conditions where the sun can lie low in the sky and be problematic when navigating.”

Solar Solve have specialised in providing sun and glare protection to the marine and offshore industry for almost 30 years and the company is celebrating its 40th anniversary in business this year (1975 – 2015).  The SOLASOLV® brand of anti-glare screen is installed at the windows of all types of ships, rigs and cranes worldwide. Regarded as essential safety equipment, the screens effectively reject up to 87% of heat and up to 93% of glare from the sun, significantly reducing eye-strain and fatigue, and improving outward visibility.  SOLASAFE® screens are guaranteed for 7 years and the only screens in the world to be Type Approved by DNV-GL, Lloyds’ and ABS.

Clearwater Seafoods is one of North America's largest seafood companies with over 1,400 employees in offices, plants and vessel operations in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador and worldwide.  Clearwater operates a ‘from ocean to plate' philosophy owning its own fishing quotas, vessels and processing facilities whilst ensuring the principles of fisheries conservation are maintained and respected so resources are safeguarded for future generations.
