Next GREENBLAST project meeting

Mon, 05 January 2015

A&P Tyne will be hosting the next GREENBLAST meeting on 27th/28th January

The project has now successfully completed all of the practical applications of using recycled glass as an alternative blasting media and is now actively pursuing the use of the spent blasting media in the heavy clay or concrete sector, eliminating the waste from going to landfill.

Initial work has shown that the recycled glass can be included in a concrete mix as a bulking agent but work needs to be undertaken on the contaminants within the spent blasting media and what effect these can have and whether they need to be removed or can be left in the mix.

If you are interested in receiving additional information about the project please contact Dr Martyn Lightfoot martyn@ssa.org.uk
