The SSA Annual House of Commons Lunch

Mon, 19 October 2015

The Shipbuilders and Shiprepairers Association held its annual lunch at the House of Commons on Thursday 15th of October, sponsored by Bureau Veritas . The lunch was attended by members, guests and leading government officials.

Key Note addresses  were given by The Rt Hon Anna Soubry MP, Minister of State for Small Business, Industry & Enterprise and David Dingle CBE Chairman of Maritime UK and  Carnival UK.

The lunch was again very well attended and it was very refreshing to hear the UK Marine industry talked about in a very positive way after the recent launch of the New Marine Growth Study and The Technology Roadmap.

The industry was also given a major boost when the Government announced  that Cammell Laird in Birkenhead has been selected as the preferred bidder to build a state-of-the-art £200 million polar research ship.

The SSA would like to thank Bureau Veritas for their continued support with their Annual House of Commons lunch.  To find out more about Bureau Veritas please visit
