Mon, 02 June 2014

SSA attended the implementation of EC Regulation 391/2009 Article 10.1 : Mutual Recognition within Ship Classification workshop on Wednesday 28th May 2014

The aim of the workshop was to provide an update on progress and an opportunity to discuss some of the issues relating to the application of mutual recognition in the context of ship classification.

This workshop was organised for the benefit of a wide range of maritime interest groups, who may be affected by mutual recognition of class certificates. The event provided an opportunity for a two-way exchange of views on the subject.

Delegates were able to hear directly from members of the Commission (DGMOVE), industry and the EU ROs about some of the challenges and opportunities that article 10.1 presents and share views on the practicalities of mutual recognition and the regulation. This open forum session also provided an opportunity to ask questions about mutual recognition.
