Sulzer's one-stop repair

Wed, 15 June 2016

Expert engineers from Sulzer were on hand to discuss questions relating to marine maintenance

Swiss company Sulzer made its debut at this year’s Seawork International, showcasing its one-stop shop for marine repairs.

It had examples of recent repairs on display including a cut-away electric motor and a drivetrain assembly incorporating white metal bearings.

With extensive machining capabilities, Sulzer can remanufacture a wide range of components and return them to operation with many years’ reliable service.

For larger pieces of equipment, such as electrical generators, Sulzer engineers can be deployed onboard to carry out both diagnostic and repair work.

The company has a history of rewinding motors and generators and can modify the coil design to provide improved reliability and productivity.
