Maritime Heritage Conference

Fri, 17 August 2012

Milford Haven Port Authority is supporting an international conference aimed at boosting maritime heritage tourism in Pembrokeshire and across Wales.

The conference, being held in Cardiff’s City Hall on 18 and 19 October, has attracted speakers from around the world who are experts in the effects maritime heritage can have on tourism in coastal areas such as Pembrokeshire. It’s hoped the two day event will inform and excite key players in the tourist industry and lead them to invest in and promote the local coastal heritage.

Milford Haven Port Authority, through its support for the Rising Tide project which includes creating a focus to bring together maritime heritage groups across Wales, is supporting the event which is being organised by The Maritime Heritage Trust, Wales.

The conference also has the support of the Welsh Government, which is keen to participate, listen and to take from it the outcomes that will help decide on the regeneration and economic strategies around the Welsh coast.
